Colorado Peace Ride 2010
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, HOLD HARMLESS, INDEMNITY AND PARENTAL CONSENT AND GUARANTY AGREEMENT.
This is a contract. Please read it carefully and sign below.
Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age.
In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I, the undersigned participant, for myself, my family members, heirs, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns hereby fully release, discharge and hold harmless Colorado Peace Ride, the Sophia Peace Center, the Sophia Conference and Retreat Center, LLC, and the Order of Christ/Sophia, LLC (the 'OCS'),any sponsors, owners, and operations of motor vehicles and officers, directors, employees, volunteers and lessors of any of the foregoing persons, or entities from all liability, whether resulting from negligence of any aspect of the Colorado Peace Ride and hereby acknowledge that the above persons and entities have no obligation to provide medical care and have not undertaken the responsibility to do so. I agree to wear an ANSI or SNELL approved helmet at all times while riding in the Colorado Peace Ride. I acknowledge that cycling and participation in cycling events is inherently dangerous; Colorado Peace Ride is recreational and my participation in it is not essential; Colorado Peace Ride may be physically demanding and require cardio respiratory stress; Colorado Peace Ride may take place under hazardous conditions, including but not limited to, wet and slippery roads, winds, and significant altitude and temperature fluctuations; I may suffer injuries and property damage as a result of inherent dangers or the negligence of other persons, including the Order of Christ/Sophia, LLC (the owner of Colorado Peace Ride) and its associates; and I may cause injuries to others and property damage as a result of inherent dangers or as a result of my own negligence. I represent that I have medical insurance. In the event that I receive medical care as a result of a medical emergency, I hereby consent to such care and fully release the person(s) providing such care from any and all liability, whether resulting from negligence or otherwise.
I authorize and consent to persons employed or contracted by the Colorado Peace Ride, whether by videotape, film, newsprint, written advertisement or otherwise, of any materials containing my name or picture and I release any sponsors and persons acting under authority from any claims I might have due to initial or subsequent publication of any such materials or photographs. I acknowledge that if my photo or name is used in such materials I will not be receiving any compensation whatsoever.
I agree that the Colorado Peace Ride is not responsible for lost or stolen property. I understand that personal “SAG” vehicles are not allowed to stop within one mile of an aid station, before or after, and no such vehicle will park at any Colorado Peace Ride-sponsored campsite. I hereby certify that I have fully read and understand foregoing release, waiver and covenant not to sue, and sign it voluntarily. I understand that my registration fee is not transferable, my registration fees and all other fees are not refundable after June 1, 2010 for any reason, work and/or medical included, and any refund will be “in full” minus a $50 processing fee.
