On-the-Bike Clothing
• Cycling helmet — ANSI and/or Snell approved

• Leg warmers / arm warmers for the early morning (water resistant gear can substitute)

• Tire levers/patch kit - everyone should learn how to fix their own tubes

Camping
• Sleeping bag (Down bags are warmer, weigh less, and pack smaller, but useless if wet. Synthetic bags are heavier and bulkier, but less expensive for comparable warmth and they will keep you warm even if wet.)
• Sleeping pad (Closed-cell foam pads work well and are light, but self-inflating pads are more comfortable and pack-able.)
• Tent (Lightweight, with rain-fly and vestibules.)
• Ground cloth (this will extend the life of your tent)
• Sleeping bag liner (optional)

• Gatorade/Powerade powder mix (optional)
• Snacks (Clif bars/shots, Powerbars, etc, your personal preference)
